while calculating speed of boat in still water we divide the distance traveled by the time taken, as in various problems related to speed
Illustration: A boat goes from point A to another point B at a distance of 30 Km in still water in 9 hours. How much time it will take to cover 25 Km in still water.

Solution: Calculate the speed of boat in still water
Distance between point A and B = 30 Km
Time taken = 9 hours
